In June of 2025, HYCIDE XPANSE opened as an immersive arts space centering photography, media, mentorship and wellness — in the heart of Downtown Newark's Arts and Education District.
XPANSE functions as an arts axis — an active site for learning, experimenting, and gathering: a place where image and insight are inseparable and where art is not disconnected from community but folds directly back into it.

The space was designed to move people from passive observers to active participants, from consumers of culture to inheritors of — and contributors to — it.
02 — The Vision
Sanctuary
Envisioned as a sanctuary for intentional creative exchange, reflection and collaboration, HYCIDE XPANSE is a curated third space for critical thinking and aligned minds.
A testament to a life sharpened by love, loss, and clarity, XPANSE seeks to provide space for visual literacy and dialogue.
03 — Wellness
Body & Mind
HYCIDE XPANSE's presence declares that creatives need not only a place to show work, grow their craft, their networks, and their capacity — but also a reminder that their bodies and minds matter as much as their portfolios.
Wellness, at XPANSE, is presented as a necessity: a way to ground artists and community members whose lives often require resilience, endurance, and the ability to self-regulate.

Maturation
The opening of HYCIDE XPANSE marks the maturation of HYCIDE. It marks a shift in space and a shift in mentality — from document to activate, from witness to participant.
