THE BLACK & WHITE [REDUX] - Exhibition Opening Night
Please join us for the opening of HYCIDE XPANSE an immersive art space centering photography, media, mentorship, and wellness on Friday, June 27th, 6-9pm in the heart of Newark's Arts and Education District.
On view: THE BLACK & WHITE [REDUX] and exhibition of images from "HYCIDE: The Black & White Book" exploring the power of Black culture and race as a social construct. Featured photographers include Akintola Hanif, Le Pistolera, Erik James Montgomery, Jean Messeroux, Amandla Baraka, and Kenibashu Saikaptah. Copies of "HYCIDE: The Black & White Book" will be available for purchase.
The event will also feature performances by Newark hip hop collective, Safehouse, and TreZure Empire, Black alt musician and vocalist. Music by DJ 400proof.
Plus, FREE 10-minute massages by Probody Massage for the first 25 people who purchase a book.
Envisioned as a sanctuary for intentional creative exchange, reflection and collaboration, HYCIDE XPANSE is a curated third space for critical thinking and aligned minds. A testament to a life sharpened by love, loss, and clarity, XPANSE seeks to provide space for visual literacy and dialogue.
THE BLACK & WHITE [REDUX] will be on view by appointment only through August 31st. After party from 9-11pm at HYCIDE XPANSE. Free and open to the public.
